The Italica Gate - Official Site Model

The Italica Gate was the Expo's northern entrance, and was easily found by its striking mollusc-like appearance. Nearby was the Plaza de America, and Plaza de Africa - Pavilions constructed to facilitate participation by nations from these two continents.

Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and nations of the South Pacific amongst others joined nearby, near the western edge of the Gate. Australia's rectangular shaped-Pavilion can be seen here at the furthermost point of Avenue 1 - opposite the cross and bridge structure of the Pavilon of Mexico.
