The Papua New Guinea Pavilion - Australia and Queensland's nearest neighbour - featured several hand-carved wooden totem poles at the entrance - some thee metres in height each - where traditional Papua New Guinea tribal music and dance were also performed, behind a Pavilion facade backdrop of colourful close-up portrait photograph poster images of tribal warriors.

Inside, guests could gain an appreciation of traditional Papua New Guinea craftsmanship, including masks, head-pieces, seashell bead necklaces, and other woodwork.

An audio-visual
introducing the modern and traditional facets to the island nation could also be viewed.

Papua New Guinea also had a presence at the popular Pacific Lagoon - where other islands of the South Pacific were also represented.
