Captain Cook 250th Anniversary Celebration Citizens' Committee

Foundation Expo '88 proposes events for the 1770 2020 250th Anniversary of Captain James Cook's proclamation of the Annexation of Australia August 21, 1770

Foundation Expo '88 now opens the expo2020lympiad uluru proposal to all of the Australian capitals. To this purpose, Foundation Expo '88 proposes the formation of a National Committee for the Anniversary, the Captain Cook 250th Anniversary Celebration Citizens' Committee, with State Branches, each competing for, and collaborating in, events for the Celebration.

Foundation Expo '88 uses the Captain Cook Bi-Centenary Celebration Citizens' Committee (as formed by the New South Wales Government in 1968 for the 1970 200th Anniversary of same event) as the template for this Committee, and proposes the following:

* A Joint Universal Exposition and Summer Games Olympiad, with 2013 successful bid date. Applicable for all Australian capitals.
* A Universal Exposition, with 2013 to 2015 successful bid date. Applicable for all Australian capitals.
* A Summer Games Olympiad, with 2013 successful bid date. Applicable for all Australian capitals.

As of 2008, there is only 5 years to move this idea from germination stage, to development, and government and private enterprise acceptance, to international lobbying and bid success in 2013 or 2015, according to the event type. Hence, the time to start implement this proposal is now. We need your help to do the following:

. Write to your Local, State and Federal member of Council or Parliament to get them excited about the 250th Anniversary.
. Ask them to sponsor, assist in the formation of a State Branch of a Captain Cook 250th Anniversary Celebration Citizens' Committee.
. Write to your local free community newspapers and City and National newspapers to let Editors know of the proposal.
