The
Aquacade
Born from the success of the
1984 New Orleans' World Fair, this first ever Aquacade
in Australia was one of the most popular shows at World Expo '88, and
received the "Golden Platypus" Award for Excellence as
the most outstanding attraction at the Expo.
Brainchild of Entertainment Division Director,
Australian events-entrepreneur extraordinaire, Ric
Birch, the venue feaured 2 masters of ceremonies, 1
comedian, 15 high divers, 23 synchronised swimmers, and
23 dancers, playing to capacity audiences 5 times a day,
under the aquatic theme of "Bligh's Follies" - a
humourous rendition on Captain Bligh's mutiny.
